MG Hector Plus 6 Seater SUV Features & Price

MG Hector Plus is the 6 seater version of Hector and this is the third car of MG in India. Company had showcased it in Auto Expo 2020. Now company is likely to launch it in July 2020. Being the first car of Morris Garages in Indian car market Hector has performed well in terms of sales figures. This time MG is targeting 6-seater SUV segment with MG Hector Plus. As we have seen that the MG hector is performing very well in Indian market, so it will be great to see its 6 seater option.

Design

Exterior

Hector Plus is the bold looking SUV, which is quite similar to Hector in terms of design. But few changes are there, which makes it different from Hector. And it looks more premium than Hector.

It offers large black finish grill, new design LED DRL, projector headlamps and fog lamps. As per my observation the use of chrome elements is less in this as compare to Hector. This gets diamond cut 17-inch alloy wheels as same as Hector which I think it should be of 18-inch. 18-inch alloy wheels make perfect combination with this large size SUV. And its upcoming rival Tata Gravitas is also offering 18 inch alloy wheels.

This offers dual pane Panoramic sunroof same as Hector. Now lets talk about rear looks so from the rear it just looks like MG Hector. But there are some changes such as Reflector design, tail lights.

Interior

MG hector Plus will come in two variants. One is 6-seater version and second is 7-seater. 6-seater will come with captain seats with recline option as second row and 7-seater version will come with bench type seats. News is also coming that interior of Hector Plus will be same as Hector with few improvements in it.

In Hector you get 26.4 cm HD touchscreen infotainment system, upgraded internet connectivity. When it comes to music system so there are 8 speaker & tweeters. Here you also get cruise control, power adjustable front seats, tilt and telescopic adjustable steering wheel, power tail gate opening, rain sensing wipers, heated ORVM, leather wrapped steering wheel and AC vents for second row passengers. MG will provide AC vents and USB port for third row passengers. Interior colour will also change from Hector.   

Engine

MG Hector Plus Engine options are same as Hector. One is BS6 compliant 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine which produces maximum power of 143 PS at 5000 rpm, and maximum torque of 250 NM with 6 speed MT and DCT.

Second is FIAT sourced BS-6 compliant 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine this turbocharged engine produces 170PS Power and 350NM of torque with 6 speed MT. petrol version is also available in hybrid option with 48V battery.

Safety

You will get safety features such as 6 Airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), traction control system (TSC), front and rear disc brakes, ABS & EBD, and hill hold control. Here you also get 360 degree Camera view with front & rear parking sensor.

We are not sure about its safety because company has not performed any crash test of it.

MG Hector Plus Price and Launch date

Morris Garages is likely to launch MG Hector Plus in first week of July 2020. Hector starts from 12.82 lakh. And MG Hector Plus price in India is expected to be 1-2 lakh more than it. We can expect its price range starting from 14 lakh to 20 lakh.

Colour options will be same as Hector with one exclusive blue colour.

Rivals

MG Hector plus rivals are Mahindra SUV500 and the upcoming Tata Gravitas.
