Is MG Hector really a game changer?

MG Hector is one of the best car in India, if you are planning for A SUV, and it is offering class leading and some industry first features in India, like internet connected car. It has one of the biggest game changer is this segment because of its sales. It got high on demand, late delivery due to high demand. After a lot of query I thought “is Hector really a game changer for India.

                Once I saw all these blogs about its demand, features & sales, I just decided to review this car, But I want to give my honest opinion, I arrange this car from one of my friend. Now I am giving you my honest advice, if you are planning for MG Hector. So First of all I would like to tell you that if you already have bought MG Hector so there are some issues which I got to know from existing users of this car.

                So first of all let’s start with the pros of MG Hector

1. Internet connectivity-

As you know it has internet connectivity feature which helps you a lot, you may also use show off purpose as well. There are also some issues in this connectivity which I will tell you in the cons of this car. Due to its internet connectivity feature it was first car in its segment which comes with internet connectivity.

2. Looks-

In terms of looks it is an attractive car which will defiantly be noticed by the people around it. A lot of chrome has been used over there. So in term of looks there are polarised views had been found, that means you may like it or don’t like it. Front headlamp looks very attractive. Customization is also available.

3. Engine-

There are diesel & petrol both options are available. If you want a fuel efficient car so you may also think about Petrol hybrid option, where the fuel efficiency can be improved. In petrol variant it is a 1.5 ltr engine which produces 141 PS power and 250 Nm torque. And diesel engine is 2.0 ltr engine produces 168 PS power and 350 Nm of torque. In patrol engine 6 Speed transmission gearbox on offer and diesel engine comes with a 6 speed DCT gearbox.

4. Features-

Here a lot of features are available in MG Hector, where some features are segment first and some of them are rare in this segment. Here a 360-degree camera is on offer in this car which helps you to park this car easily. As you know it is a connected car so here 50 plus connected features on offer. It comes with a large touch screen, which shows it different in its segment.

When I was reviewing it I saw a large size sunroof, which looks awesome and differentiate it from other. One more thing is Ac control knob in this car which is not there physically, you have to control it with the touchscreen, which makes it smarter.

5. Safety-

In terms of safety here again a lot of features available like 360-degree view camera, hill hold control, electronic stability program and up to 6 airbags are on offer, I haven’t seen its Indian road crash till date so I am not pretty sure about its safety once I research on it then I post a separate blog for its safety.

Now let’s talk about its cons

Cons-

1. Internet Issue-

As you know it is an internet connected car but it has some bugs faced by the users.

2. Voice assist-

It also has voice assist but doesn’t work very well.

3. AC Power-

Air conditioner doesn’t perform very well, as you know it has a large panoramic sunroof so needed a powerful AC but it couldn’t perform as per the requirement and the rear seat conditioning takes some time. It has black top so It needed a powerful AC.

4. After Sales Service-

Morris Garages recently came to India so it needs some time to deliver proper after sales service. For now, it can’t provide you best in class after sale service.

5. Parts availability-

The same reason which have mentioned it after sales section, so in case accident occurs then it will take more time to get your car repaired.
