Tata Safari SUV is Launching Soon, 7 Seater Harrier?

The day Tata Motors had showcased the all-new Tata Safari which is the 7-seater version of Harrier in the Auto Expo 2020, The SUV market became more competitive and interesting.

In the Auto Expo 2020, Tata Motors has revealed its several products. But one product that was catching the attention of all was the Safari SUV. This good-looking car has a powerful engine, some best-in-class features. I will discuss this in detail in this blog.

Tata Safari Design

Exterior

Tata Motors continuing its impact design 2.0 Philosophy in Safari. This SUV has stunning looks. If you see it from the front you will think this is the same as Harrier.

But let me tell you there are some minor changes in the front. The front grill in Harrier is blackish and simple but in this, it is grayish in color with some chrome element in it.

In the lighting department, you get the daytime running LED which also works as an indicator. This increases car Aesthetics to large extent. Below this, you get projector headlamps plus a normal halogen bulb. it comes with chrome lining. Below it fog lamp is also there.

The overall use of chrome in front makes it more luxurious than Harrier. Inside also Chrome strip is used below the windows. And you see chrome indoor handles as well.

It gets new design large roof rails with stepped roof. Windows are also new designed, from Third row also visibility is good.  

It is the side view from where you can easily differentiate Safari from Harrier. because of Third row in it. And this results in increase in its dimensions.

When we compared it with harrier, it is 63 mm longer, 80 mm taller and 72 mm wider. The wheelbase remains the same as Harrier.

In rear of Gravitas SUV you will find new design Led tail-lamps, large roof spoiler and tailgate than Harrier. And badge of Gravitas with chrome underlining looks good.

Harrier alloy wheels are of 17-inch but In this you will get 18-inch diamond cut alloy wheels, Which look quite impressive.

Interior

Gravitas dashboard looks like Harrier but in addition to that you get different color combination which looks more premium.

It comes with 8.8 inch touch screen infotainment system with Android auto and Apple car play. here you get 9 JBL speakers and external amplifier which offers best in segment acoustic experience.

This SUV also offers electronic parking brake, which was hand brake in Harrier and auto hold like features.

Other features are electrical adjustable seat and ORVMs, tilt and telescopic adjustable steering wheel, cruise control, push start stop button, auto dimming IRVMs, rain sensing wipers, AC vents in second and third row.

The Gravitas SUV showcased by Tata in Auto Expo 2020 was 6-seater with captain seats in middle. Seats are so comfortable. Second row seats can be recline. In second row huge legroom is there.

In third row legroom is decent for local commute, but for long journey it may create problem, because there is no thigh support.

One of the best thing in third row is AC vents which is most important thing for third row. It also offers USB port for mobile charging.

When Gravitas SUV will be launched by Tata, it will available in both 6 and 7seater options.

We all were expecting sunroof in Gravitas because it is the demand of time. But company showcased it without sunroof.

I am sure about it that company will definitely offer its sunroof equipped version at the time of launch. As we know old Harrier was also without sunroof but now Tata Harrier 2020 comes with a large panoramic sunroof.

Tata Gravitas Engine

Tata will use FIAT sourced BS-6 compliant 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine for Gravitas, which also comes in Harrier. This next generation Kryotec turbocharged engine produces 170 PS Power and 350 NM of torque. You will get 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission options.

In this you get cruise control for long highway drives. You also get multi drive modes like Eco, City and Sport. With ESP Terrain response modes such as Normal, Wet and Rough to take on difficult terrains with ease.

Tata Gravitas Safety Features

As we all know Tata Motors is proving itself best in terms of safety. Or I can say now-a-days Tata Motors is becoming another name of safety.

In this car you get 6 airbags (Driver, co-driver, seat side, & curtain airbags), ESP as standard. you also get Fog lamp with cornering function.

Some other features are ABS, Electronic brake force distribution, off road ABS, corner stability control, Hill hold control and ESC.

It also equipped with Electronic traction control, hill descent control, brake disc wiping, roll over mitigation, electronic brake pre-fill, hydraulic brake assist, hydraulic fading compensation, and dynamic wheel torque by brake.

Architecture

Gravitas is made on same OMEGA Architecture as Harrier. This is derived from Land Rover’s D8 Architecture. It gives exemplary driving Dynamics, quiet and refined in cabin experience, absolute safety, high strength. And has robust build quality and reliability.

Tata Gravitas Launch Date

Gravitas showcased in Auto Expo 2020 was a production ready model. So it was expected to be launched by April 2020. But because of some reasons it is delayed by few months. We can expect its launch in the end of 2020.

Tata Gravitas Price

Tata Harrier price starts from Rs 13.69 lakh. And this SUV price is expected to be 1-2 lakh more than it. The Tata Gravitas price may be in range between Rs 15 lakh to Rs 22.5 lakh.

Should I Buy Tata Gravitas Or Not…..?
